What is the Butterfly Brigade?multi-colored butterfly

The Butterfly Brigade is a branch of DAHRT which collects stuffed animals and distributes them to children in hospitals.  The first 27 stuffed animals were delivered to kids at Children's Hospital in October 1998.  These stuffed animals bring joy to children who are ill and in need of something to lift their spirits.

To whom is the Butterfly Brigade dedicated?

The Butterfly Brigade is dedicated to Melinda Lee Osborne.  It was founded in her memory following her death on July 6, 1998.

Mindi was the inspiration for DAHRT and one of the main reasons we fought so hard to win justice for people with disabilities.

Every year on Mindi's birthday, stuffed animals will be given to honor her memory.  In October, 1998, DAHRT donated the first of 27 teddy bears to be given to Children's Hospital in Seattle.

In Loving Memory Of Mindi.

"You've traveled far
Though you can't walk
You've taught us much
Though you can't talk."

How can I help?

Your donation of stuffed animals and/or funds to purchase stuffed animals may be dropped off at the DAHRT office or given to a DAHRT member.

Please be a part of this wonderful plan and bring joy to an ill child in Mindi's name.
